Recently, there have been rumors circulating that the next-generation Nintendo Switch 2 will be released in the first quarter of 2024. Several mysterious Twitter accounts have leaked information about the Nintendo Switch 2, including its appearance, specifications, UI interface, and the all-new Joy-Con 2 controllers. While it’s still uncertain which sources are more reliable, these rumors suggest that the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 is not too far away.
Numerous Twitter accounts have shared information about the Nintendo Switch 2. First, @NintendoLeaks1 revealed the specifications and rendered images of the Switch 2 console. According to their claims, the next-generation Switch console will feature a 720p OLED screen with HDR support, possibly reaching 720p at 60fps. In terms of hardware specifications, it is rumored to be equipped with the T239 chip, 8GB of RAM, and 64GB of eMMC storage, with a battery life of approximately 3 to 6 hours.
Regarding the design, the Switch 2 might have a metal casing with curved edges and separate volume and power buttons, while still retaining the 3.5mm headphone jack. The rear stand on the back of the console is said to be larger than the previous generation, potentially providing better support.
Next, @NintendogsBS shared design sketches of the Joy-Con 2 controllers. The major improvement is the ability to adjust the position of the button panels on both the left and right sides of the Joy-Con, ensuring ergonomic symmetry and improved dual-player gaming experience.
According to a document resembling the Joy-Con 2, it seems that the controllers will utilize a magnetic installation method. Users would bring the Joy-Con 2 close to the edge, and once the magnetic force locks it in place, they can slide it downward until it is fully secured.
Furthermore, on the Joy-Con 2 controllers included with the Switch 2, there are some slight design changes to certain buttons. The Home button on the right and the Options button on the left have undergone a redesign.
